Vornado Heater Troubleshooting Guide

Before using your heater, review the information below to help ensure safe and proper operation.

PROBLEMPOSSIBLE CAUSE AND SOLUTION
Heater arrived and box appears damaged.Inspect the heater carefully before use. Do not use the product if visible damage is present. Contact Vornado Consumer Service for assistance.
Heater makes rattling or loose sounds.This may indicate loose internal parts from shipping or handling. Stop use and contact Vornado Consumer Service.
Heater powers on but there is no airflow.Allow the heater to reach room temperature before use, especially after delivery or seasonal storage. If applicable, try Fan Only mode briefly.
Heater powers on but does not produce heat.Ensure the heater has reached room temperature and is operating normally. If airflow or heat does not return, contact Consumer Service.
Heater smells unusual during first use.A mild odor during first use can be normal as manufacturing residues dissipate. If odor is strong, persistent, or accompanied by smoke, discontinue use immediately.
Fan blade does not appear to move.If your model includes a visible fan blade, verify that it is rotating normally during operation.
Heating element appears glowing red.Discontinue use and contact Vornado Consumer Service if the heating element glows bright red during operation.
Fan blade or heating element appears off-center.Stop use immediately and contact Vornado Consumer Service.
Heater was stored in a cold area before use.Allow the unit to return to room temperature before operating.
Consumer wants to open or repair heater.Do not disassemble the heater for any reason. Contact Vornado Consumer Service for assistance.
Heater will not operate normally.Turn the heater off, unplug for 30 seconds, reconnect power, and restart.

When to Contact Customer Support

Contact Customer Support if:

  • Visible damage is present
  • Loose internal sounds are heard
  • No airflow or heat is produced during operation
  • Fan blade does not rotate properly
  • Heating element glows red
  • Fan blade or heating element appears off-center
  • You notice unusual odor, smoke, overheating, sparking, visible damage, or any safety concern
