Vornado Strata Connect Troubleshooting Guide

Many operating behaviors that may seem unusual at first are part of normal operation. Please review the information below before contacting Customer Support.

PROBLEMPOSSIBLE CAUSE AND SOLUTION
Unit returns to previous settings after restart.This is normal. The product may remember the last used speed and oscillation settings.
Unit starts differently after being unplugged.This is normal. After power loss or unplugging, the fan may return to default startup settings.
Speed changes one level at a time.This is normal. Speed increases or decreases step-by-step between low and high settings.
Fan changes speed on its own.This is normal when automatic comfort features are active. The product may adjust airflow based on room conditions.
Oscillation stops, pauses, or reverses direction.This is normal if movement is obstructed. Remove any object blocking motion. The fan may pause or reverse to continue operation.
Unit moves briefly when power is restored.This is normal. The fan may reposition itself before beginning normal operation.
Fan does not start airflow immediately after plugging in.This is normal. Startup positioning may complete before airflow begins.
App changes do not happen instantly.This is normal. Commands from the app may occur in real time or near real time. Allow a moment for updates.
App cannot connect to the fan.Confirm Wi-Fi connection, mobile device settings, and that the product is in setup mode if pairing for the first time.
Fan still works without Wi-Fi.This is normal. Manual controls continue to operate even when wireless features are unavailable.
Lights flash or change color.This is normal. Indicator lights may show power, connection status, or setting changes.
Unit pauses briefly while changing settings.This is normal. Short pauses may occur while the product updates speed, movement, or app commands.
Unit will not operate normally.Turn the unit off, unplug for 30 seconds, reconnect power, and restart.

When to Contact Customer Support

Contact Customer Support if:

  • Product does not power on or respond to controls
  • Fan speed cannot be changed at all
  • Oscillation does not function or is completely unresponsive
  • Connectivity setup fails and prevents app pairing entirely
  • Product stops operating and does not recover
  • You notice unusual odor, smoke, overheating, sparking, visible damage, or any safety concern

If using automatic comfort features, allow the fan time to gradually adjust speed based on room conditions.
