Vornado Axis 12 Troubleshooting Guide

Many operating behaviors that may seem unusual at first are part of normal operation. Please review the information below before contacting Customer Support.

PROBLEMPOSSIBLE CAUSE AND SOLUTION
Unit starts on a mid-level speed when first turned on.This is normal. The product is designed to begin at a standard mid-level speed setting.
Unit returns to the last used speed after being turned off and back on.This is normal. The fan may remember the previous speed setting for convenience.
Speed changes one level at a time.This is normal. Each press of the speed control increases or decreases speed step-by-step.
Speed changes feel gradual.This is normal. The fan may take a brief moment to transition between selected speed levels.
Airflow or sound changes when speed is adjusted.This is normal. Different speed levels naturally create changes in airflow and motor sound.
Unit does not seem to hold speed immediately after startup.Allow the fan a moment to stabilize after turning on or after changing speed settings.
Buttons seem slow to respond.Press controls firmly once and allow a moment for the unit to react.
Repeated button presses cause concern.This is normal. Regular use of the controls will not harm the product.
Unit does not respond to controls.Ensure the unit is plugged into a working outlet and powered on.
Unit will not operate normally.Turn the unit off, unplug for 30 seconds, reconnect power, and restart.

When to Contact Customer Support

Contact Customer Support if:

  • Product does not turn on or off
  • Speed buttons do not change the speed
  • Product does not respond to any controls
  • Product cannot maintain a selected speed
  • You notice unusual odor, smoke, overheating, sparking, visible damage, or any safety concern

Helpful Tip

If airflow feels too strong at startup, simply lower the speed after the fan powers on.
