Vornado ARA Troubleshooting Guide
Many operating behaviors that may seem unusual at first are part of normal operation. Please review the information below before contacting Customer Support.
| PROBLEM | POSSIBLE CAUSE AND SOLUTION |

| Unit moves briefly when first plugged in. | This is normal. The product may rotate or reposition itself before normal operation begins. |
| Unit centers itself at startup. | This is normal. The fan may move to a centered position automatically during startup. |
| Fan moves but airflow does not start immediately. | This is normal. The unit may complete startup positioning before airflow begins. |
| Oscillation does not start. | Ensure oscillation has been turned on using the control panel or remote. |
| Oscillation turns off or changes range. | This is normal depending on selected settings. Some modes may use different movement ranges. |
| Unit stops and reverses direction while oscillating. | This is normal if movement is obstructed. Remove any object blocking motion. The fan may reverse direction to continue operation. |
| Speed changes one level at a time. | This is normal. Speed increases or decreases step-by-step with each button press. |
| Speed will not go past highest or lowest setting. | This is normal. Speed stops at the top and bottom settings and does not continue cycling. |
| Unit returns to previous settings when turned off and back on. | This is normal. The product may remember the last used settings. |
| Unit starts with default settings after being unplugged. | This is normal. Disconnecting power may reset the fan to standard startup settings. |
| Buttons seem slow to respond. | This is normal. A brief delay may occur while settings are applied. Press once and allow a moment for response. |
| Lights flash during adjustments. | This is normal. Indicator lights may flash or change to confirm commands. |
| Remote does not respond. | Move closer to the unit, point the remote directly at the product, and complete pairing if required. |
| Remote changes one setting at a time. | This is normal. The remote mirrors the product controls and changes settings step-by-step. |
| Unit will not operate normally. | Turn the unit off, unplug for 30 seconds, reconnect power, and restart. |
When to Contact Customer Support
Contact Customer Support if:
- The product does not turn on or respond to controls
- Oscillation does not function at all
- The product cannot change speed settings
- The product stops functioning and does not recover
- The remote cannot control the product after proper setup
- You notice unusual odor, smoke, overheating, sparking, visible damage, or any safety concern
Helpful Tip
Allow the fan a few moments after startup to complete positioning before making additional setting changes.
