EOS 9 / 9S Troubleshooting Guide

Many operating behaviors that may seem unusual at first are part of normal operation. Please review the information below before contacting Customer Support.

PROBLEM

POSSIBLE CAUSE AND SOLUTION

Fan does not turn on after reassembly.

Ensure the front grille is fully installed and properly seated. The unit includes a safety feature that prevents operation if the grille is removed or not secured correctly.

Fan starts with previous settings after being unplugged.

This is normal. The fan remembers the last speed, oscillation, and light settings used. Adjust settings as desired.

Controls or display become dim after a short time.

This is normal. The display and controls dim automatically after inactivity to reduce room light. Press any button to wake the controls.

Power button remains faintly lit when unit is off.

This is normal. The Power button remains softly illuminated to indicate standby mode.

Fan changes speed on its own.

This is normal in Sleep, Breeze, or Cyclic modes. These modes intentionally vary airflow for comfort. Select a standard speed setting if steady airflow is preferred.

Fan slows down or turns off in Sleep Mode.

This is expected behavior. Sleep Mode gradually reduces speed over time and may stop airflow after the cycle completes.

Fan moves briefly during startup or adjustments.

This is normal. The fan may reposition itself during startup or while changing oscillation settings.

Oscillation stops or reverses direction.

Ensure nothing is blocking movement. If movement is obstructed, the fan may reverse direction automatically as a protective feature.

Fan points upward and airflow stops.

The unit may be in Lamp Mode. In this mode, airflow is disabled and lighting remains available. Exit Lamp Mode to resume normal fan operation.

Rear light works but fan does not run.

The unit may be in Lamp Mode or Fan Power may be off. Exit Lamp Mode and press the Power button to resume airflow.

Rear light changes brightness gradually.

This is normal. Illumination levels adjust smoothly rather than instantly.

Timer will not stay set.

After selecting the timer, wait a few seconds for the setting to save. Setting the timer to 0 turns the timer off.

Buttons do not respond.

Controls may be locked. Press and hold the Lock button for 3 seconds to unlock the controls.

Remote does not respond.

Replace the battery if needed and ensure you are within range. If still unresponsive, re-pair the remote according to the Owner’s Guide instructions.

Fan speed will not go past High or Low.

This is normal. Speeds increase and decrease step-by-step and do not cycle automatically from highest to lowest.

Unit will not operate normally after interruption.

Turn the unit off, unplug for 30 seconds, then reconnect power and restart.

Helpful Tip

For the best experience, use standard fan speed mode when steady airflow is desired, and use Sleep, Breeze, or Cyclic modes when varying airflow is preferred.
